For fishing certain ponds there is a limit of the amount of test you should use for your line. If you are not familiar, a certain fishing line can have a certain amount of test and the test is measured in pounds. So for example, if you are fishing for a great white shark you would use around 250 pound test line. For a fishing in a pond similar to the ones I showed you, you would use around 7-8 pound test. Going over ten would be unnecessary, if you were to put 15 pound test line you would not get enough line on the reel and it would cause knots and issues for your reel. You can get any good fishing line at any local store, the brand I would recommend is;  monofilament, Fluorocarbon, and Braid. All of these types of fishing line come in different pounds so there is no specific brand you need for a certain test.

A good fishing reel that I would purchase would be a classic spinning reel which is the basic reel for beginners or expert fisherman. A good brand that I would recommend for a spinner reel would be Shimano. They have been along the sport of fishing and fishing in general for a while and they are very reliable. If you would want to find a more advanced reel, I would try a bait caster which is just a little more advanced then a spinner reel but can be very effective when you master it. Shimano would also be a very good brand to use for a bait caster reel. The location of the place is relatively close to the locations I gave of the ponds so if you needed to stop by to pick up a reel it would not be out of the way. The address is 1 N. While fishing these ponds there are many interesting fish livings in these ponds. The different types of fish, the first fish is called a bass, the bass usually only grow to around three to four pounds. They are a really easy fish to catch but you will have a lot of fun catching them. The next fish is called a pike, this fish can grow to 12-15 inches which are really long. They also have really sharp teeth and when taking your hook out make sure to use pliers. The last fish is a great fish for little kids getting into fishing it is called a bluegill. Thes fish are around 5-7 inches and are small but are really fun to catch and look awesome.

The bait is probably the most important part of things needed to fish these ponds because most of these fish are so picky. The different baits will vary on what fish you are fishing for. For a bass, you could use a spinnerbait or a classic live worm. Anything will really work for bait at these spots which is very good. The location of the stores to buy bait are relatively close to the ponds that I recommended. The more variety of baits you have the better time you will have fishing, because of the different types of fish you can catch. For this blog, I will discuss what fishing rods that will be helpful and where it is located. The store to buy the fishing rod is located 1 N. Galleria Drive Middle Town, New York. This store is very close to both fishing spots so if you needed to get a new rod it is nearby. This store has rods for beginners and experts, the beginner fishing rod is called a spinner rod which is a classic setup. The expert rod is called a bait caster which is a little more difficult but if you learned it, it is more effective. For purchasing a rod any rod will work, as long as it is over eight ft it is good. Anything lower than eight feet would be harder to control the fish because of the fish are so big. This store is very customer friendly and will help you with whatever you need.

This location for fishing is my second favorite spot, it is located at Seven Lakes Dr / Bear Mountain Circle, which is in the Harriman state park, This fishing spot offers many great scenic areas to go for a hike. It also is a spot for great fishing for beginners or expert fisherman. This spot is very easy and is right off of the New York State Thruway. What you can expect if you were to go here is a lot of different species of fish. Along with the fishing comes a great area to get into a boat and go explore the Harriman state park. This park has enough room even to fly fish, which is amazing because from fly fishing you can catch fish you would not catch on a bass rod. When the winter comes the pond freezes which can be used for ice fishing and even pod hockey! This place is also a very good spot to bring your family because of the great scenic area that this park has to offer. I would highly recommend this place for fishing because of the different areas near the pond that you have access to.

For this blog, I will be giving you the location for my favorite spot to go fishing. This blog is for anyone who is interested in fishing, even if you do not want to catch fish this is still a great place to learn about this fishing spot along with where it is and what is in it. Here is a picture of the lakes. This picture the blue body of water is where the lake is located. As you can see it is right next to Monroe Woodbury in New York. It is easy to access just right off the highway and there is a road to the park which is very nice. This spot is a very good spot if you are just starting off fishing there is many fish such as bass, pike, bluegill, and even turtles!
